Check Out Some Pics From #SDCC2015!

The Comic-Con uproar has since fizzled from last weekend's electricity over many of the gems that fans got to view and observe. Simultaneously, with the event being one of the biggest, it's also something I currently don't get to attend since distance is reigning factor in that regard, and for this, I was kindly met with an opportunity by independent filmmaker Mark Anthony Gadia, a friend in the area who managed to visit the event for a few days and was willing to snap a few detailed and up-close photos of a few of the booths and their various exhibits, namely Legendary's Warcraft scenery, costumes on full display for several  WB/DC Entertainment properties, a quick pic of Marvel's Agent Carter series star, actress Peggy Atwell, and more.

Granted it's been four days since I got these and I haven't had the time to work on editing this post, but I hope it offers a little something to your fandom as it does mine. Special thanks to Mark for hooking this up and taking the time to bring these to our attention, and by all means, follow him on YoutubeFacebook and Twitter

SDCC 2015: Watch The Crystal Clear Comic-Con Trailer For SUICIDE SQUAD!

Much to the delight of many a fan, Warner Bros finally released its San Diego Comic-Con trailer for the August 5, 2016 release of director David Ayer's live-action DC Comics property, Suicide Squad. Granted, a statement from Warner Bros. almost surely asserted that the footage would be deemed unlikely to release due to constant leaks from the studio's Hall-H presentation of the footage over the weekend, although now it seems that someone upstairs had a change of heart.

Alas, crispity clear footage of our anti-heroic crowd of baddies resigned to a world-saving suicide mission can now be seen in the player below. Will Smith, Joel Kinnaman, Margot Robbie, Cara Delevigne, Jai Courtney and Jared Leto top line the cast with Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Viola Davis, Karen Fukuhara, Jay Hernandez, Alex Meraz, an appearance by Ben Affleck as one of several expected film appearances to come in the role of Batman, and many more.

Be graced AND haunted with the amazing footage below, and let's hope the studios don't decide to hold back from future Hall-H exclusives from here on.

SDCC 2015: Machinima, Hasbro Announce New TRANSFORMERS Series!

Comic-Con kicked off several days ago in San Diego and news had already begun pouring out from the crevasses about what's to come. One such update included a new deal made between Hasbro and multimedia streaming site, Machinima for a new Transformers series.

This should service quite well as a promotional gem for Paramount Pictures in the good company of Akiva Goldsman and his writing team as they string together a fifth feature-length installment for a 2017 release. We'll see how this turns out.
The TRANSFORMERS are coming to Machinima. In an agreement between Machinima and Hasbro, the TRANSFORMERS world will be brought to life on the many2many programming service that kicks off right smack in the middle of The Combiner Wars. The series introduces new lore and all-new characters that, combined with the characters fans have known for decades, will bring the TRANSFORMERS storytelling in a new direction as the Machinima series will deliver raging action and signature humor to legions of TRANSFORMERS fans.
“We couldn't be more excited to bring one of the biggest franchises in the world to Machinima. Our audiences are huge fans of the comics, movies, toys and video games, and for us to continue the legend with the Combiner Wars is a unique storytelling opportunity,” said Machinima’s Chief Creative Officer Daniel Tibbets.
“We’re thrilled to be teaming up with Machinima on this groundbreaking, new digital series,” said Tom Warner, Senior Vice President for the TRANSFORMERS franchise for Hasbro. “As one of the top global producers and distributors of digital entertainment, they’re the perfect partner to help launch a totally new kind of TRANSFORMERS animation—one that, for the first time ever, is specifically designed for the teen and adult fans who have grown up loving the TRANSFORMERS brand. We look forward to delivering amazing action, storytelling and characterization that these fans demand, as the Combiner Wars play out across toys, comics, digital games and of course, the brand new animated digital series.”

SDCC 2015: Ubisoft Gets A New Writer For SPLINTER CELL

San Diego Comic-Con may be over, but the news still remains residual for quite a number of upcoming projects, namely Ubisoft Motion Pictures's upcoming theatrical adaptation of the hit game, Splinter Cell. Actor Tom Hardy, star of Mad Max: Fury Road and the upcoming crime biopic, Legend, is tapped to star as of late 2012 and now, word from Deadline states script writing duties remain on-going with the addition of Frank John Hughes now writing the next draft.

Hughes, who wrote the script for actor Denzel Washington's upcoming post-apocalyptic future thriller, Shovel Ready, is third in line to work the script for the new film following previous drafts by award-winning writers Eric Warren Singer (The International, American Hustle) and Sheldon Turner (Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, X-Men: First Class). Ubisoft's Splinter Cell franchise stems from a series of books began by military sci-fi author Tom Clancy about Sam Fisher, a highly-trained special ops soldier who works in a fictional black-ops sub-division called “Echelon”, a team best known for its use of cutting edge weaponry and unique combat skills to take on terrorists and neutralize powerful enemies in action-packed stories ripped from real-world headlines.

Hardy's recent appearance in Mad Max: Fury Road earned close to $360 million dollars globally since its theatrical run began two months ago. His next dual role in Brian Helgeland's Legend opens in the U.S. on October 2, 2015.

SDCC 2015: HEROES REBORN Gets A New Trailer For The Fall Series!

Fans of the hit show, Heroes, now have something to fawn over this season through the Fall. Heroes Reborn is marking the show's return to viewers starting September 24, 2015 at 8:00pm/7:00pm central, and it's easy to see why people are excited.

SYNOPSIS:
From Creator/Executive Producer Tim Kring, who imagined NBC's original critically acclaimed 2006 "Heroes" series, comes "Heroes Reborn," an epic 13-episode event series that chronicles the lives of ordinary people who discover they possess extraordinary abilities.
A year ago, a terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas left the city decimated. Blamed for the tragic event, those with extraordinary abilities are in hiding or on the run from those with nefarious motives.
Two such vigilantes include Luke (Zachary Levi, "Chuck") and Joanne (Judith Shekoni, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2"), who are seeking to avenge a tragic loss.
Noah Bennet, aka HRG (Jack Coleman, "Heroes"), has gone off the grid, but conspiracy theorist Quentin Frady (Henry Zebrowski, "A to Z") finds him and opens his eyes to the truth behind the Odessa tragedy.
While in hiding, some are discovering their newfound skills. Awkward teen Tommy (Robbie Kay, "Once Upon a Time") just wants to be normal and win the girl of his dreams, Emily (Gatlin Green, "Criminal Minds"), but normalcy is virtually impossible after learning of a new ability that terrifies him. Coming from a very sheltered upbringing, a bold and ethereal teenager, Malina (Danika Yarosh, "Shameless"), has been told she is destined for greatness. In Tokyo, a quiet and unique young woman, Miko (Kiki Sukezane, "Death Yankee 3"), is trying to track down her missing father while hiding an extraordinary secret that will make her a force to be reckoned with. Elsewhere, a different type of hero is emerging through former soldier Carlos (Ryan Guzman, "The Boy Next Door")
Meanwhile, Erica (Rya Kihlstedt, "Masters of Sex"), the head of the highly successful tech conglomerate Renautas has an agenda of her own.
For better or for worse, some are fated to cross paths with assorted heroes of the past, including Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka), Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg), Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) and the Haitian (Jimmy Jean-Louis), among others. Yet, together, their ultimate destiny is nothing less than saving the world and mankind.
Joining Kring are Executive Producers James Middleton ("Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles") and Peter Elkoff ("Sons of Anarchy"). "Heroes Reborn" is produced by Imperative Entertainment, in association with Universal Television.

The trailer premiered in the wake of the weekend's events at San Diego Comic-Con. Watch it now in the player below.

SDCC 2015: Studios Considering Keeping Leaked Exclusive Footage Unreleased

Like all movie sites and blogs therein, there's a certain limit to the content I share which embodies my own guidelines differently from how other blogs operate. One such rule includes not making a habit of sharing smartphone footage taken from specific events like this weekend's San Diego Comic-Con where attendees gained exclusive access to merchandise and exposure to a number of things, including the bustling slate of movies where Warner Bros. stayed on deck to present sizzle reels for their films, including David Ayer's forthcoming DC Entertainment property, Suicide Squad.

Like everyone interested, I can't wait to see the footage being shared. Unfortunately, there's a price to be paid with the nature of netizens and all their fandom with the way things go viral once leaked. Studios are very strict about these things which is personally frustrating to me because I would rather they just unveiled the footage online so everyone who can't afford a plane ticket and a weekend stay at a hotel to go to a convention can be able to see and share in the excitement everyone else gets to feel; Hell, I've only ever gotten to attend one convention in my life and that was in New York City in 2004. I shook Peter Mayhew's hand - highlight of my life right there!

Alas, it doesn't look very good for the Comic-Con crowd this weekend either. I just prepared a draft for a possible online unveiling of the Comic-Con trailer for 20th Century Fox's Deadpool and now word from Deadline suggests the notion that studios might be pulling back from not only releasing Comic-Con footage online, but also showcasing exclusive footage to Comic-Con audiences altogether. Furthermore, Sue Kroll from Warner Bros. who had this to say about the leaked Comic-Con teaser for Suicide Squad:
“We have no plans currently to release the Suicide Squad footage that leaked from Hall H on Saturday. It’s unfortunate and ultimately damaging that one individual broke a long-standing trust we have enjoyed with our fans at the convention by posting early material, which, at this point, was not intended for a wider audience. We are still in production on Suicide Squad, and will have a big campaign launch in the future. Our presentation yesterday was designed to be experienced in that room, on those big screens!”
As much as I hate that studios hold out like this and would rather just release the footage since it's going to go viral anyway, I respect that they might...just MIGHT have reasons for not doing so. Simultaneously, it's also sad that as much as Comic-Con audiences are being trusted, they simply refuse to respect rules being applied to them - I'd like to think that doing so would allow studios to be a little more lenient when officially releasing footage for blogs to write about in clarity. Plus, the last thing I want to see is some tiny, shitty ass screen blurring all the content filmed from a low-angle with some dude walking in front of the lens. And the funny thing is that some people would have the audacity to call me ungrateful for that.

No, no. Fuck you. At best here, gratitude should be observed by the very people who are simply asked to do one specific thing - DON'T RECORD THE FOOTAGE.

Yeah, I'll say it: As it stands, the people failed, not the studios. Sure, they could just release these trailers and let that be that, but this also exemplifies the sheer lack of responsibility that a certain portion of these Comic-Con goers feel when it comes to rules, merely believing that just because they can bring their phones in, the rules don't apply to them.

Well, judging by appearances here, the studios are about to fix that. Otherwise perhaps this will implure you to tell your Comic-Con neighbor to put their phone away. My two cents here.

Suicide Squad opens on August 5, 2016. As for a teaser for this film and apparently the February 12, 2016 release of Deadpool, I guess we're getting it when Warner Bros., Marvel and 20th Century Fox are damn good and ready.

QUESTION: Do you think studios should be lenient and simply release the footage they show at Comic-Cons? Or are they correct in dialing back from lack of trust? Comment below and say your peace!

SDCC 2015: THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. Gets An Explosive Extended Comic-Con Trailer

The Warner Bros. line-up at San Diego Comic Con took full advantage of the Hall H crowd today as it unveiled its slate. As such, director Guy Ritchie's The Man From U.N.C.L.E. was on hand to deliver the goods. Actor Henry Cavill was a busy bee on Saturday to help promote the film as one of two titles he's starring in, here now along with Armie Hammer and actress Alicia Vikander lending her share of the charm to this theatrical rendition of the classic TV series from which it's based.

The film's release is slightly over a month away so it sounds proper that this would get dibs with Comic-Con goers this weekend. You can see what the studio unveiled in a new five-minute promo below!

SDCC 2015: Go INTO THE BADLANDS With Daniel Wu In The New Trailer

AMC Television is aiming to help mark a new standard in home entertainment, and as bustling as the industry has been with the incorporation of martial arts action into its formula, the new series Into The Badlands has all the opportunity this Fall to leave an impression. Actor and producer Daniel Wu leads the cast of the new series that combines the mysticism and mythology of Chinese folklore with a dystopian millieu filled and brimming with multiple players, many coming with shades of grey, and sometimes, something sharp and quite deadly!
Into the Badlands is a genre-bending martial arts series very loosely based on the classic Chinese tale Journey to the West. In a land controlled by feudal barons, Into the Badlands tells the story of a great warrior and a young boy who embark on a journey across a dangerous land to find enlightenment.
Emily Beecham (28 Weeks Later, The Village), Sarah Bolger (The Tudors, In America) and Oliver Stark (The Adventurer: The Curse of the Midas Box, My Hero) also star. SDCC 2015: The New Extended Trailer For BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Is Here!

SDCC 2015: Zak Lee Guarnaccia Launches Kickstater For Martial Arts Actioner, KALM

It was back in 2013 that actor, martial artist and stuntman Zak Lee Guarnaccia announced a couple of new projects from his production banner at LightRow Pictures, one including martial arts action thriller, Kalm. That was two years ago, and as one can imagine, any independent production like this may take a while to get off the ground, and that's where his latest effort at crowdfunding comes in over at Kickstater.

An official press release was issued a few days ago as Guarnaccia has since begun ramping up the buzz at San Diego Comic-Con. Check out all the details below with further links to the Kickstarter campaign page and other links with more information about the film and the studio, and Guarnaccia as he looks to add another contribution of his own to the martial arts action genre.
Zak Lee Guarnaccia, Actor/Stuntman, Executive Producer at LightRow Pictures (www.lightrow.com), and Paul Lupi, Producer of Lupi Pictures, enter production of the feature film in the martial-arts, action-thriller genre entitled "KALM." Principal photography partially funding being raised on Kickstarter. The project will debut at the SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON 2015 (SDCC).
In addition, Guarnaccia will play an undisclosed role and produce a TV Pilot of Lupi Pictures "CENTRAL PARK WEST" to start in New York July 2015 written and produced by Paul Lupi with brother Daniel Lupi ("Lincoln," "The Master," "There Will Be Blood," "Catch Me If You Can," "Boogie Nights").
A story with extreme martial arts choreography, "KALM" is a bodyguard assigned to chauffeur a headlining exotic dancer to a desert town, when they get caught in the crossfire between warring drug lords.
LightRow Pictures developed the new action hero "KALM" and will exhibit at San Diego Comic-Con 2015 at Bella Fe Films and LightRow Pictures booth #1532. Bella Fe Films (www.bellafefilms.com) will produce "KALM," the comic book, and the graphic illustrations and postcards for collectors fans to promote the "KALM Kickstarter Crowdfunding Campaign."
"KALM" launched its new adventure in the crowd funding field on July 7, 2015 and invites action genre fans to help fund this highly-anticipated comic book and martial arts feature-length film at: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lightrowpictures/kalm.
"KALM" has fantastic dangerous stunts, chases and explosions - it's a new, slick, martial arts action film with an "Italian spice" and crowd-funding supporters will help make it happen.
Guarnaccia says: "We pulled together a roster of great actors, stunt fighters, crew, and have a distributor of this genre attached working with us and making this project successful."
Guarnaccia's gritty film style and performance grabbed the attention of Paul Lupi whose company Lupi Pictures is now in talks to co-produce properties in the Lightrow roster.
Award-winning actor Zak Lee Guarnaccia's rugged looks, relentless style of martial arts, and experience in stunt-work and action choreography has lead to his reputation as "The Italian Jackie Chan."
"KALM" the comic book is written by Ken Mora, writer/producer of the spoof of Clint Eastwood's "Dirty Harry" films entitled "Magnum Farce." The screenplay is written by a talented young writer Marc Guzman and boasts DGA director John Rogers on board to call the action. The production will create a distinct vision for "KALM" to be shot, principally, on a desolate stretch of road in the USA.
Guarnaccia's recent appearances include Pablo the henchman on the upcoming MARVEL TV Series "AGENT X" produced by Sharon Stone and FOX TV, "The LAST SHIP" on TNT and "NCIS Los Angeles" season 4 episode "Lokhay," and a coming nationally-aired Mercury Insurance Commercial.

SDCC 2015: Affleck, Johns To Team Up For THE BATMAN

Things are in full swing in San Diego for Comic-Con where Zack Snyder's Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice will take the stage in Hall H for its star-studded panel this weekend. That said, actor Ben Affleck has since broken the news that he and DC Comics's chief creative officer Geoff Johns are likely to turn finish a script for Affleck's long-hyped iteration of The Batman.

Deadline reports the film will take precedence over Affleck's schedule once he wraps his long-awaited adaptation of the award-winning 2012 publication by author Dennis Lehane, Live By Night, and will focus on the progression of the title character following Snyder's aforementioned movie going into the slated 2017 and 2019 releases of Snyder's Justice League twofer. The news also comes at a time when Cavill himself is also on record expressing his hopes for another installment of Man Of Steel following his 2013 film, and if the hype takes its intended shape, it looks like Warner Bros. may be making a few more additions to its production schedule.

Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice releases on March 25, 2016. Stay tuned for more info.
