Check Out Some Pics From #SDCC2015!

The Comic-Con uproar has since fizzled from last weekend's electricity over many of the gems that fans got to view and observe. Simultaneously, with the event being one of the biggest, it's also something I currently don't get to attend since distance is reigning factor in that regard, and for this, I was kindly met with an opportunity by independent filmmaker Mark Anthony Gadia, a friend in the area who managed to visit the event for a few days and was willing to snap a few detailed and up-close photos of a few of the booths and their various exhibits, namely Legendary's Warcraft scenery, costumes on full display for several  WB/DC Entertainment properties, a quick pic of Marvel's Agent Carter series star, actress Peggy Atwell, and more.

Granted it's been four days since I got these and I haven't had the time to work on editing this post, but I hope it offers a little something to your fandom as it does mine. CBS's SUPERGIRL Lands A Premiere Date!

Perhaps some of the biggest news that took up most of the last few months revolved around all things coming to television between now and 2016. As such, the Fall line-up has been quite the talk and with particular regard to the upcoming pilot premiere of CBS's one-hour per episode series adaptation of DC Comics character, Supergirl.

No need for those who probably already saw the pilot when it was leaked online last month, thought it would still be pretty neat for fans to help support it and promote through its better-quality viewing on television. That said, THR has listed the several dates and showtimes of various programs with its Thursday Night Football airing as its springboard, and Supergirl now has a date set for Monday, October 26 at 8:30pm EST/7:30pm Central, followed by Mondays at 8:00pm EST/7:00pm Central on November 2.

SUPERGIRL is an action-adventure drama based on the DC Comics character Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist), Superman's (Kal-El) cousin who, after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. Twelve-year-old Kara escaped the doomed planet Krypton with her parents' help at the same time as the infant Kal-El. Protected and raised on Earth by her foster family, the Danvers, Kara grew up in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex (Chyler Leigh), and learned to conceal the phenomenal powers she shares with her famous cousin in order to keep her identity a secret. Years later at 24, Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul and fierce taskmaster Cat Grant (Golden Globe Award winner Calista Flockhart), who just hired the Daily Planet's former photographer, James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), as her new art director. However, Kara's days of keeping her talents a secret are over when Hank Henshaw (David Harewood), head of a super-secret agency where her sister also works, enlists her to help them protect the citizens of National City from sinister threats. Though Kara will need to find a way to manage her newfound empowerment with her very human relationships, her heart soars as she takes to the skies as Supergirl to fight crime. Greg Berlanti ("The Flash," "Arrow"), Ali Adler, Sarah Schecter and Andrew Kreisberg are executive producers for Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. The pilot was directed by Glen Winter ("Arrow").

CBS's SUPERGIRL Lands With A Short Trailer

Following Wednesday's first look, a new short trailer is out for the Fall premiere of CBS's new TV series, Supergirl. Actress Melissa Benoist takes on the lead carrying her home planet's symbol of hope apart from her much more known cousin, and it will undoubtedly get the hardcore fanbase to pay attention, however which way you feel about the series.

Granted, if this short trailer happens to be YOUR first look, then consider yourself lucky. It takes on a slightly more serious tone with a little bit more superswag, and in my opinion, this should have happened yesterday. Check it out below! And yes, I wrote the word "superswag". You're welcome.

CBS's SUPERGIRL Takes Flight In A New Extended First Look!

Aside from the current expectations preset by Warner Bros. in the wake of all hype for its current theatrical slate, the DC Comics realm of television has a bit of a thing going for itself with all of its properties whether active or in developments, one of them being CBS's Fall programming slate with the inclusion of the new series, Supergirl. The network just released a six-minute first look into the series which casts Melissa Benoist in an Ally McBeal-ish setting that no less seems fitting for television and a notable nod to actress 

Calista Flockhart who plays the dragon lady who rules the office.

Coming-of-age comedy, young-adult romance and quirky sisterly chemistry are what we get here, layered on top of the grim danger and rising threat-level that comes with the task of being Superman's cousin. It's no Man Of Steel, but for an industry and a genre with an audience vehemently demanding a more prominent female presence in the superhero realm, a superheroine like this one will do some good, I predict. And she's coming this Fall on Mondays at 8:00pm EST/7:00pm Central.

CBS Unveils Its SUPERGIRL!

The world of television has evolved in stellar fashion with various networks taking cues from Marvel and DC Comics to form numerous superheroes shows in the past several years. One such show is the current production of Supergirl for CBS which just began principal photography from executive producers Sarah Schechter, and scribes Ali Adler, Andrew Kreisberg and Arrow's Greg Berlanti providing the script for Glen Winter to direct. Having spent the past month announcing its cast and with cameras now rolling, CBS has finally unveiled lead actress Melissa Benoist in full costume as the title character, designed by Oscar-winner Colleen Andrews.

Born on the planet Krypton, Kara Zor-El escaped amid its destruction years ago. Since arriving on Earth, she’s been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin. But now at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be.

Benoist is joined by Chyler Leigh, Mehcad Brooks, Laura Benanti, Calista Flockhart, David Harewood and Jeremy Jordan with actors notable for their own respective feature lentgth and TV iterations, actress Helen Slater and actor Dean Cain also starring.

As a noteworthy mention, Syfy is also working on a prequel series relevant to the Superman universe with Man Of Steel scribe David Goyer for the show, Krypton. There's no reason to suspect any of these shows may tie-in somehow, although depending on how these shows get approached from here on out, I don't see why they shouldn't, especially with all the recent back-and-forth from actor Hugh Jackman on his optimism regarding an Avengers/X-Men crossover despite other reports suggesting the opposite. Who knows at this point? If it happens, it happens I guess.
