SAN ANDREAS Star And Director Reunite For RAMPAGE Next Year!

Deadline is bringing word that star of the upcoming action comedy, Central Intelligence, actor Dwayne Johnson will be sustaining his action star-status in the forthcoming production of the live-action game adaptation, Rampage, reteaming once again with director Brad Peyton. The two previously worked on Johnson's latest role in Peyton's new disaster flick, San Andreas, which grossed up to $460 million dollars in theaters, so it appears this latest update is one that clearly makes sense.

Johnson was initially reported as the first addition to the film back in June with Non-Stop scribe Ryan Engle on scripting duties. Nil is currently known about the plot in the public eye, although the gist of it will largely follow Johnson by way of the classic 1986 Midway game as he takes on three giant monsters - a gorilla, a lizard and a werewolf - rampaging the city. Hence, the title, obviously, or however which way you choose to apply that theme to a Dwayne Johnson vehicle. Either way, you already know this one is preparing to be another hit by its slated 2017 release.

Beau Flynn is producing the film under his FlynnPictureCo banner at New Line Cinema with Johnson also backing the film via Seven Bucks Productions. Cameras are expected to roll next summer after Johnson wraps Furious 8 for Universal Pictures.

Come to think of it, now would be a good time for Peyton to consider the prospects of helming the 2019 release of Shazam since Johnson is already attached as the anti-hero, Black Adam. After all, he did get into talking about directing superhero movies just a few months ago, so...why not?

Live Action Game Adap, RAMPAGE, Casts Dwayne Johnson!

Hmk... it hasn't exactly been very long since actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson made headlines with the upcoming remake of Big Trouble In Little China, on top of the latest series premiere of the HBO original series, Ballers. Point in fact, he's also just off of a hugely successful run having starred in director Brad Peyton's disaster flick, San Andreas lending further credence to his starpower, so it's no wonder that Johnson is still one of the most sought after actors today.

Well, leave it to the various trade sources on Tuesday, including Deadline now circulating the news of Johnson's latest attachment to the forthcoming adaptation of the classic 1986 Midway game, Rampage. New Line Cinema is backing the film with producer Beau Flynn and a script by Non-Stop scribe Ryan Engle which sees Johnson taking on three monsters who ramble and pillage major cities - a gorilla, a lizard and a wolf. No director has been cited yet while FlynnPictureCo. and Rickard Pictures are also behind the film's development and subsequent production slatednfor next summer after Johnson finishes filming scenes for Universal's Furious 8.

BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA Gets A Remake With Dwayne Johnson In Talks To Star

Well, as if coming off of a successful first weekend at the box-office with the release of the new earthquake epic, San Andreas, Dwayne Johnson is making another move to star in a remake of the 1986 cult classic, Big Trouble In Little China. The news should be a treat to first-generation fans long drawn toward ire against the idea of any remake, particularly with regard to actor Kurt Russell who starred in the original whilst other plans are currently underway to remake another Russell-classic, Escape From New York.

The Wrap confirmed the news (following a span of uninformed rumors pertaining to sequel following a sequel released in comic book form last year) in writing that Johnson and his team consisting of producing partners Dany and Hiram Garcia pitched the idea to Twentieth Century Fox with X-Men: First Class scribes Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz already on-board for writing duties. If confirmed, Johnson gets to claim the role of truck driver Jack Burton who gets swept up in an age-old battle of good vs. evil in a world filled with martial arts, mystics and eccentric characters.

Johnson is definitely keeping busy nowadays with a number of titles on the way, including Central Intelligence next year with comedic talent Kevin Hart, his reprisal as D.S.S. Agent Hobbs in Furious 8 for its 2017 release, and his DC Comics debut as Black Adam in the upcoming 2019 release, Shazam. His next move will be in the HBO series premiere, Ballers, on June 21.

Dwayne Johnson And Kevin Hart Begin Filming CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE For Warner Bros.

Following last year's report, actors Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Kevin Hart are back in the headlines for Rawson Marshall Thurber's new movie, Central Intelligence. Both actors are huge favorites with a pending workload between now and next year with Johnson still on deck for disaster flick, San Andreas later this month and Hart's pending sequel romp, Ride Along 2.

On that note, it'll be fun to watch these two take on each other in a setting perfect enough for some action and laughs to take place. Filming officially started this week in Boston, Massachusetts, so hopefully we'll see some cool set pics along the way. Cue the specifics below!

BURBANK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Production has begun in Boston on the action comedy “Central Intelligence,” for New Line Cinema and Universal Pictures. The film, starring Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, will be directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, director of the hit comedies “We’re the Millers” and “Dodgeball.” 

The story follows a one-time bullied geek who grew up to be a lethal CIA agent (Johnson), coming home for his high school reunion. Claiming to be on a top-secret case, he enlists the help of the former “big man on campus” (Hart), now an accountant who misses his glory days. But before the staid numbers-cruncher realizes what he’s getting into it’s too late to get out, as his increasingly unpredictable new friend drags him through a world of shoot-outs, double-crosses and espionage that could get them both killed in more ways than he can count. 

“Central Intelligence” will also star Oscar nominee Amy Ryan (“Gone Baby Gone”) as CIA Agent Harris; and Danielle Nicolet (TV’s “The Game”) as Maggie, the wife and high school sweetheart of Hart’s BMOC. 

Thurber will direct from a screenplay by Ike Barinholtz & David Stassen and Sean Anders & John Morris, story by Ike Barinholtz & David Stassen. The film will be produced by Scott Stuber (“Ted”), Peter Principato (TV’s “Black-ish”), Paul Young (“Black-ish”) and Michael Fottrell (“Furious Seven”). Ed Helms, who previously worked with Thurber on “We’re the Millers,” will serve as executive producer. 

The creative filmmaking team includes director of photography Barry Peterson (“We’re the Millers,” “21 Jump Street”), production designer Stephen Lineweaver (“Ted,” “Blades of Glory”), editors Mike Sale and Brian Olds (“We’re the Millers,” “Tammy”) and costume designer Carol Ramsey (“Horrible Bosses,” “Dodgeball”).
