A routine assignment explodes into an international crisis in Jarhead 3: The Siege, the newest chapter of the revelatory military franchise from Universal 1440 Entertainment. A timely story about a U.S. Embassy under attack and the important role of Marines in keeping U.S. citizens safe abroad, the film offers a gritty and unsettling foray into the real lives of today's volunteer warriors and wrapped production in Bulgaria on April 19.
"The original Jarhead has gone on to became a modern-day military classic," said Glenn Ross, General Manager and Executive Vice President, Universal 1440 Entertainment. "We believe fans of the first film's authentic and visceral portrayal of life in a contemporary combat zone will find this installment a worthy successor."
Jarhead 3: The Siege stars Charlie Weber ("How to Get Away with Murder"), Scott Adkins (The Bourne Ultimatum), Tom Ainsley ("The Royals"), Erik Valdez ("Graceland"), Sasha Jackson (Journey to the Hidden Valley), Dennis Haysbert (Jarhead, "24"), Romeo Miller (Madea's Witness Protection), Joe Corrigall (Kajaki), Hadrian Howard ("Sons of Anarchy"), Charlie de Melo ("Casualty") and Dante Basco ("Avatar: The Last Airbender").
The film is directed by Will Kaufman (The Hit List) from a script by Michael Weiss (Scorpian King 4: Quest for Power) and produced by Jeffery Beach (Jarhead 2: Field of Fire) and Phillip J. Roth (Jarhead 2: Field of Fire). Director of photography is Mark Rutledge (Starve). Cherise Honey (Jarhead 2: Field of Fire) is executive producer.
SYNOPSIS: Corporal Evan Albright (Charlie Weber) joined the elite Marine Corp Security Guards to save the world and see some action—not necessarily in that order. But his first assignment, protecting a U.S. Embassy in a seemingly safe Middle Eastern capitol, relegates his unit to wrangling "gate groupies" protesting outside the compound and honing their marksmanship by playing video games. So Albright and his team are caught off guard when well-armed and well-trained militants launch a surprise attack aimed at killing an informant in the embassy. Heavily out-gunned, they will have to muster all the courage and firepower they can as their once routine assignment spirals into all-out war.
The official Scott Adkins website also announced the film's completion last weekend with a new set pic you can only view there. The film now moves the film forward to post production with further details pending. Stay tuned for more info.
