While we await the good word on what will happen further in Universal's revamped world of vampires and monsters, things have set sail over in Berlin where the EFM is already underway, and actor Luke Evans now has another role in his hands. With the actor's schedule open after abandoning The Crow remake last month, official news has broken that Evans is now tapped to star in the new thriller, Three Seconds, based on the 2009 publication from award-winning Swedish crime authors Anders Roslund and Borge Hellstrom.
Renouned director Otto Bathurst (Peaky Blinders, Black Mirror, Criminal Justice) is set to helm the film from a script by Matt Cook which sees Evans in the role of a man forced to escape prison and fight for his life when the FBI abandon him following a botched undercover mission behind bars to infiltrate the Polish mafia's New York drug cartel. Basil Iwank and Ollie Madden of Thunder Road and Shine Pictures are on board with financing from PalmStar Media
Principal photography is set to begin this Spring while Evans is also expected to appear in helmer Ben Wheatley's 1970's crime pic, Free Fire later this year as well.
