Actor Michael Fassbender, reportedly on deck to return as Magneto for next year's release of Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse, is set to lead the film with Justin Kurzel directing. The plot is not yet known, though its initial setting revolves around a man swept into a thrilling adventure with the help of a device that unlocks and ultimately "bleeds" past lives and memories as a clandestine assassin in search of the Pieces Of Eden, powerful artifacts that can control the fate of mankind.
It's not easy delivering a video game to the big screen as there have been more failures than not. Some directors, if not merely a few, are taking notice at this trend as of late and there have been some significant improvements. Nonetheless, the franchise has spawned a fanbase hugely invested with interest in the franchise, and so comes the challenge of convincing jaded fans alike that it will workin this instance. Ultimately though, time will tell as Ubisoft is already on the way with a number of live-action adaptations.
Lotsa promises are being made, and while Fassbender is a fine actor without a doubt, we're bound to get a glimpse of his pairing with Kurzel later this year for the Shakesperean drama, MacBeth. The Transporter Legacy scribes Bill Collage and Adam Cooper are providing the script for Assassin's Creed for its release on December 21, 2016.
Stay tuned for more information.
