The First Trailer For Quentin Tarantino's THE HATEFUL EIGHT Arrives!

Director Quentin Tarantino's latest film has quite the task to live up to with the impending releases of The Revenant, Point Break and Star Wars: The Force Awakens all releasing within a week part of each other. However, as extravagant as The Hateful Eight has been in the past few years up to now with the past several months giving us stills and a few posters to tease us with, it doesn't appear to lessen the excitement much. Taratino didn't miss a beat with his previous work on Django Unchained, so with this, he's clearly in his element, and with a limited ceremonious Christmas release on 70mm Widescreen format, anyone looking forward to a glorious and gritty return to form in an awesome western will sure get it.

SYNOPSIS:
In THE HATEFUL EIGHT, set six or eight or twelve years after the Civil War, a stagecoach hurtles through the wintry Wyoming landscape. The passengers, bounty hunter John Ruth and his fugitive Daisy Domergue, race towards the town of Red Rock where Ruth, known in these parts as “The Hangman,” will bring Domergue to justice. Along the road, they encounter two strangers: Major Marquis Warren, a black former union soldier turned infamous bounty hunter, and Chris Mannix, a southern renegade who claims to be the town’s new Sheriff. Losing their lead on the blizzard, Ruth, Domergue, Warren and Mannix seek refuge at Minnie’s Haberdashery, a stagecoach stopover on a mountain pass. When they arrive at Minnie’s, they are greeted not by the proprietor but by four unfamiliar faces. Bob, who’s taking care of Minnie’s while she’s visiting her mother, is holed up with Oswaldo Mobray, the hangman of Red Rock, cow-puncher Joe Gage, and Confederate General Sanford Smithers. As the storm overtakes the mountainside stopover, our eight travelers come to learn they may not make it to Red Rock after all…
The brand new trailer has arrived and a standard release is also pending in January. Watch the trailer below and be sure to research exactly which theaters will be screening the version you want to watch in the next four months.

BARELY LETHAL Heads To DVD & Digital HD Next Month. Watch The Trailer!

I honestly didn't expect director Kyle Newman's latest fish-out-of-water action comedy, Barely Lethal, to be so obscure in the past year or more. Thankfully though, the film isn't too far off from its forthcoming DVD/Blu-Ray and Digital releases next month, with actress Hailee Steinfeld starring as a young, highly trained spy on a whimsical quest of self-discovery on what it's like to be a "normal" teenage girl.
The film did hit some high notes among early audiences otherwise gracing the film its approval, and if you like watching Samuel L. Jackson and Jessica Alba, this one ought to be enjoyable for the family. Observe the official specs below and watch the latest trailer courtesy of Lionsgate Unlocked.
A teenage undercover agent discovers graduating from high school may be a bigger challenge than being an international spy in the action comedy Barely Lethal, arriving on Blu-ray™ (plus Digital HD) and DVD (plus Digital) August 4th from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. Released theatrically by A24, director Kyle Newman's (Fanboys) film shakes up the teen spy genre with an all-star cast that kicks butt while making the audience laugh out loud. Starring Academy Award® nominee Hailee Steinfeld (Best Supporting Actress, True Grit, 2010), Jessica Alba (Sin City franchise), Sophie Turner (HBO's "Game of Thrones") and Dove Cameron (TV's "Liv and Maddie"), the Barely Lethal Blu-ray and DVDfeature an audio commentary, deleted scenes and a behind-the-scenes featurette. Barely Lethal will be available on Blu-ray and DVD for the suggested retail price of $24.99 and $19.98, respectively.
A teenage special-ops agent (Steinfeld) yearning for a "normal" adolescence fakes her own death and enrolls as a student in a typical American high school. She quickly learns that surviving the treacherous waters of being a teenager can be more difficult than international espionage.

BARELY LETHAL Takes Aim With A New Trailer And A Pair Of Release Dates

Now this looks like a teen romcom I can get used to. Actress Halee Steinfeld as a highly trained assassin looking for an out and finds her way into high school in search of a life she's been missing, only to see her past come back in a deadly way? Yes, despite the usual assortment of wit and adolescent camp you might normally find in any pubescent teen comedy, at least this one packs some heat.

SYNOPSIS:
A 16-year-old international assassin yearning for a "normal" adolescence fakes her own death and enrolls as a senior in a suburban high school. She quickly learns that being popular can be more painful than getting water-boarded.
Jessica Alba and Samuel L. Jackson add their share of starpower to this long-awaited gem from director Kyle Newman with A24 releasing the film to subscribers of DirecTV on April 30 before granting a limited theatrical release on May 29. Whilst an international trailer went viral earlier this year, an official one is now making the rounds. Peep it below.

New Line To Reboot SHAFT

It's been more than forty years since actor Richard Roundtree made blaxploitation history in the 1971 film, Shaft, centered on a badass New York detective who infiltrates the city's criminal underworld to help free a mob boss's daughter. Directed by Gordon Parks, the film's success spawned two more films while briefly extending its reign to television, accompanied by the award-winning sounds of Isaac Hayes's chart-topping signature theme song for the franchise at the time. The film also succeed into a non-linear pseudo-remake in 2000 with actor Samuel L. Jackson starring, in which Roundtree himself made a cameo.

So now what? Well, the word from The Wrap is that a reboot is now underway with Davis Entertainment's John Davis (Predator, Predators, The Man From U.N.C.L.E.) producing for New Line. There's no word yet on how the studio will plan to reboot the new movie whether through its 70's or a more contemporary take like John Singleton fifteen years ago. In my opinion, a seventies setting would look real awesome and fitting for a proper reboot of such a classic with the right director and crew on board. As for who could star in the title role, there are quite a few who come to mind. I'd name names but, you guys have the floor.

QUESTION: Which names would you like considered to take the role as Shaft in the new film? Comment below or on our Facebook page!
