Martial Arts Gang Warfare Erupts In New Stills For Park Sang-Hyeon's KWON BOB: CHINATOWN

It was on Thursday that City On Fire forwarded news of an upcoming martial arts action thriller, Kwon Bob: Chinatown (you're forgiven if the title adheres to some sort of title character - it actually translates to "martial arts"). The film marks the directorial debut of stunt professional Park Sang-Hyeon whose most recent and notable credit includes working under action director Jong Doo-Hong for last year's Kundo: Age Of The Rampant, and here it appears that we are going to get something quite special for our money's worth.

A rebirth of Korean traditional martial arts. The battle between action masters is about to begin!

Chinatown is a place where crime and betrayal are rampant. Violent crime detective Ko Jeong-hyeok (Seo Joon-yeong) can't rest a day. He tries to rid the streets of criminals but he's too busy cleaning up his own mess because of his habit of using physical violence first. Lately, he's been so desperate to capture Song, the boss of an organization that deals with smuggling drugs and human trafficking, that he ignores his girlfriend Ji-hyeon's (Ban So-yeong) request. Ji-hyeon does voluntary work for homeless people but one day notices that one or two of them have gone missing. She'd asked Jeong-hyeok to help her find them but he only has Song on his mind. Then one day, a source tells Jeong-hyeok about the location of Song; however, he fails every time to capture him because of interference from Black Society, one of the biggest Chinese gangs. It turns out the boss of Black Society and his gang were also after Song who had brought harm to their organization. Tension rises between Jeong-hyeok and Black Society who are both out to get Song. Jeong-hyeok has nothing but guts although he fights the gang who are also the best martial arts fighters in China.
It's also odd that not a single trailer has been unveiled as it appears this one has title gone under the radar. We are within a week until the film's release on July 9, so unless this film's headed for some sort of minimal release or a pushed-back date, this is cutting it close.

At any rate, we do have stills, so check those out below and stay tuned for more info, and hopefully a trailer that really should have been here by now.
