Fantasia 2015 is kicking off on July 14 with the usual assortment of promising titles from around the world and brimming with cult excitement. Director Gabriel Carrer's latest, The Demolisher, is no exception here for its intended audience with a teaser having been released earlier on to present the vibrantly moody, dark, gritty ode to unmitigated crimefighting resolve with actor Ry Barrett leading the cast.
Point in fact, the film is already receiving the support of other filmmakers alike which is no mere feat to accomplish. This one is definitely no joke and is surely one to be a crowdpleaser later this month and in premieres and releases thereafter, and lucky Fantasia attendees will be some of the first to witness this film in all it's unapologetic, gruesomely vigilant glory when it plays on July 27.
SYNOPSIS:
Bruce (Ryan Barrett) is an ordinary repairman tormented by a crippling sense of responsibility for his disabled wife Samantha, an ex-policewoman (Tianna Nori), the survivor of a gang-related assault. Bruce’s increasing hyper-sensitivity to the injustice suffered by his wife steer him down a dark path of vigilantism, and with his rapidly disintegrating mental health, paranoia and overwhelming sense of doom, Bruce channels his inner rage towards a young woman Marie (Jessica Vano) and finds refuge in a world of extreme violence. Both a character study and a psychological examination of trauma, The Demolisher is an unapologetic portrayal of what can happen when a fragile mind is pushed too far.The film has since completed post-production and is alreadt circulating its newest trailer and festival poster ahead of the festival.
