Here, Nichols III's screenplay lands him in the title role as a troubled drifter with a mysterious past who finds himself inspired by an ill young boy whilst coming to terms as the last line of defense for a family about to lose their land. Atomic Eden co-star and filmmaker Everett Aponte serves as co-director with Nichols III himself designing the fight sequences, and considering a premise like this, it appears Shilo is just the kind of underdog tale that fans of hard-hitting action and poignant family drama can enjoy. Think films like Road House and Blood And Bone, and you'll get the idea.
Shilo is heading for a market push this year in search of distribution, so feel free to check out the trailer and keep your eyes peeled for this one at its official Facebook page!
